Message name.
This is the point I'm trying to make. The new Z will have to be double its price to be a full fledged replacement quality and exotic-wise for our Z32s. If it is almost half the price of what our cars cost five years ago and faster because it weighs less, hence it can't be the same quality nor will it be as exclusive as the z32 (the z32 is semi-exclusive, you don't see many around (esp. TTs) in areas other than Phoenix, Chicago, NY, LA, Bay Area and Dallas and Houston).
If 25k is the average new car price, many people will be able to buy one for around 30K if it looks cool. That will make the Z another common (yawn) popular statement car like the New Beetle or better yet a Camaro or Mustang, the cars it is supposed to compete with. Whats the fun in that? Don't you want something you don't see everyday (unique, thats why everone (you've done this) slaps on rims and bodykits, right?), something that turns heads, has an awesome, hard to duplicate feeling, performance and name to match? The Z will retain less high esteem as a legend and become a go-fast common sports car like an Eclipe, Camaro or Mustang.
The Z32 proved itself, with its drop-dead gorgeous looks, and beautiful handling we try to make better everyday (I guess SteAmyZ did this with his washers) :), and it has already become a classic in those ways (how many people predicted it would (lots), not many cars get that kind of compliments when new because they are expected to be bettered in their next incarnation). Past Z's have become classics (240Z) but they don't have that same exclusive feel. There are so many 240Z's out there and everyone can get one. The Z32 is limited in number compared to other mass production sports cars and as they are modded, wrecked, stolen and abused, the nice ones keep going up, up and up in value and exclusivity. They are cherry.
Also, you know that the new 350Z's will have kinks the first few years until they are pressed out. It is always wise to wait a bit to buy a new car. I know after looking into the new M5, it definately had problems the first two years of production, they are much better now. Also you know a few tenths to 60 and the quarter mile doesn't make the difference, thats why people choose between Z's, Supras and RX-7's! If the pure acceleration was everything to you then why do you still have your NA? Its all about the indescribable feel, right? You are comfortable with your NA even though you've driven other awesome cars, yet you still allures you back to it. The TT is a faster version with a slightly more sporting feel and handle, so it is great to have with an NA :) (Ask Arnel!).
This is getting long so I'll stop because you're a bright guy and I'm sure you are catching my drift! But in the end, do whatever makes you happy. Take your Z into the mountains for a few days, find he meaning of life and you'll know what to buy!

Good luck my friend.
